Merrimack Organization Message Board
Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
Here is a brief explanation
of some of the questions you may have about WWWBoard.
What good is this Message Board?
This Message Board gives you the ability to post a message from ANY
internet connected computer, and for the messages to be read by ANYONE
with net access. It's just as if you could type a message on your
computer and have it immediately show up on the Merrimack Cable Channel.
Or if you could reach the sign at the MYA building from your office.
You simply tell your organization to "check for updates on Merrimack Online".
Who Can Post Messages?
Any Merrimack Non-profit or School-related organization will receive
authorization to post messages for FREE. The Merrimack Youth Association
is already a financial supporter of this web site, so naturally all MYA
activities can post messages. Merrimack schools and school related
activies are welcome to use it. Church groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts,
My Act...anybody that does good stuff in town can get access. If
too many groups begin to use the Message Board, additional Boards can be
added!
Why
didn't my post show up?
Your post most likely did
not show up, because your browser did not reload the page, it simply pulled
it out of cache (a locally stored copy that the browser thinks is good
enough!). Please refresh or reload the page and it should then appear.
AOL USERS: AOL has a more pesky cache that wants to prevent updates
for 24 hours. You may be able to update the page by holding the CTRL
key and refreshing the page by clicking on their curly arrow refresh button.
We recommend you use another browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape
Navigator after connecting via AOL.
Can
I put html tags anywhere in my posts?
No. You can not use
HTML tags in any field. Merrimack Online will just throw out everything
in <>'s.
Where
can I get the scripts for this program?
The scripts are written
in Perl and created by Matt Wright.
They are free to anyone who wishes to use them and you can get them as
well as other scripts at: http://www.scriptarchive.com/.
