Q. What's going on about a "Teen Center" in Merrimack?
A. lot of people, both teens and adults, think there should be a teen center in Merrimack. They've formed a committee and have been getting together to try to figure out what it should be and how it can be done.
Q. Who is on the committee?
A. The committee formed from people who came to the TAP Result Presentation nights...they are people who are concerned about the opinions expressed by Merrimack Teenagers.
Q. Can I get on the committee?
A. You certainly can come to meetings. The composition of the committee has not been formally established.
Q. Will the MYA Building become the Teen Center?
A. The MYA Building may serve some purpose as the teen center is developed. But the Building can't support all the things a Teen Center needs, and the building currently supports important MYA functions. Many things need to be worked out!
Q. Is the Teen Center an MYA Function?
A. MYA is very interested in activities for teens, and will probably provide initial volunteer support. At the moment, there is no funding and no formal organizational structure for the teen center. As the Teen Center develops, it may come under the auspices of the Merrimack Parks and Recs.
